Whispering Hollows Hunting Ranch offers an exciting hunt for four wild turkey species, each rooted in unique U.S. regions. The Eastern turkey’s thunderous gobble echoes through Eastern forests, while the Rio Grande turkey, with its copper hues, roams the plains of Texas and Oklahoma. Merriam’s turkeys, native to the Western mountains, boast white-tipped tails, and the elusive Osceola turkey, from Florida’s swamps, dazzles with its iridescent feathers. Male gobblers impress with their signature calls and distinctive beards, making them a prized target for any hunter.

A turkey hunt at Whispering Hollows Hunting Preserve starts before daylight. You’ll leave the lodge early and head to one of the high vantage points within the 500-acre preserve. A guide will help locate a bird by listening for its gobble. Once a turkey is found, you’ll move into position and try calling it in for a clear shot. After the hunt, you’ll return to the lodge to enjoy a hot lunch while reflecting on the experience.
